[That may have been a poor choice on his part, going back to painting her toes, because when he says that she sits up quickly, foot kicking with the movement so she ends up with a lovely purple stripe across her toes.

She doesn't seem to notice.]

He told you? And you told him?

[He gives her a Look.]

You'll muss the paint, jumping about like that.

[Because it's so much easier to fuss at her than to be honest. But she is, after all, the one person he trusts with this.]

We spoke on it...yes.

[The words are stilted and awkward.]

Dorian, that's-

[But she trails off, and her excitement dims at his reaction. All the elven girls she knew growing up who fell in love were positively giddy with it when they told her, unable to keep still and smiling through blushing cheeks and teary eyes.

This is nothing like that, and she stills as she watches Dorian focusing on her toes instead of flapping his hands at her in joy.]

... likely terrifying, for both of you. Are you alright?

Yes? It's...hard to know, for sure. I'm happy, for what it's worth. Terribly, almost painfully so.

[He may as well be speaking to her foot right now, trying to get a handle of the emotions raging inside of him. Dorian was, until his time in the Circles, known as a kind, sweet boy. He wasn't gentle, and he was often tempestuous.

He was a son of Tevinter, equal parts piss and vigor.]

I've never quite known this before. It's...frightening. We didn't say much after that, we mostly sat in silence and drank. He's an odd man, but he suits me.

Your happiness is worth quite a lot, Dorian. Don't sell yourself short.

[She wiggles her toes a bit to make his job a little more difficult, but really there's already polish all over the place so she isn't worried about a neat and tidy job. More important is how Dorian seems to be reacting to the fact that he's found love.

She understands why he's afraid, of course. If this is something he's never let himself have before, he won't know how to go about it, where to go from where he and Fenris have found themselves. There's the question of how long they have together, considering there seems to be no warning before a person is snatched away and sent back home.

It's really no wonder they'd rush, when what time they have could very well be limited. It's entirely possible they might not even remember each other if they were to be sent back.]

You suit each other, really. And I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. You're a smart man, lethallin, you'll figure this out in no time.

[He smiles, scoffing an honest chuckle.]

It seems, at times, my quick wits are truly all I can count as a redeeming feature. But thank you, consanguinea.

[he pats her foot, putting on the final bit of polish and then shaking his head at her.]

When I said paint your toes, Jove, I meant only the nails.

[And there was a teasing smile.]

Not that you don't have charming little footsies. Not as charming as some of your other features, mind.

[She sits up and leans forward, reaching out so she can curl the end of his moustache around her finger. Lol.]

Have we reached the point of the night where you start praising me for my looks so quickly? Usually you wait until at least the second bottle of wine.

Oh, if you'd rather, I can wait! I was thinking it's nearly a shame you're sitting, or I'd compliment your ass.

[He laughs, reaching for the wine and taking a swig.]
